THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW DISEMBARKS IN NEWPORT

“At Newport RI, Italian Yachting Industry, an event dedicates to the 2023 Genoa International Boat Show.”

New York – On May 25, the 2023 Genoa International Boat Show was presented for the third time in the United States, at the exceptional location of the prestigious NYYC Harbour Court Newport RI.

The third event dedicated to activities directed at the branding and reputation of the Genoa Boat Show, during these months committed to defining its restyling for edition number 63 (Genoa, September 21 to 26, 2023), curated by Archistar Renzo Piano.

The United States permanently represents the primary market for Italian recreational boating in the world, with 10 years of continuous double-digit growth, Italian yachting holds a record-high place in the U.S. market at an international level; in the year of the new sales record of Made in Italy 69 billion dollars, also in 2022, a new record for Boating 575 million dollars (+30% over 2021).

This occurs because the Italian yachting industry is the epitome of Made in Italy with yachts and boats that display technology, design, and materials, along with performance, innovation, style and creativity. Confirming its top position are the countless Italian companies, which are absolute industry leaders, and the Boat Show, an event of primary international importance with more than 1200 boats present.

“The event at the prestigious location of Newport RI reinforces the path to communicate Italian excellence in boating in the U.S., created in collaboration with the ICE Agency. A unique opportunity to present a preview of the upcoming edition of the Genoa International Boat Show, ready to welcome the most important innovations in the industry in an exhibition layout that combines design and sustainability, owing to the creation of the new Waterfront di Levante project, designed by architect Renzo Piano,” stated Stefano Pagani Isnardi, Director of the Confindustria Nautica Research Office.

“We included Newport fully in the Italy on Madison program because the Genoa International Boat Show is an example of Made in Italy excellence for several reasons. On one hand, it is a growing trade show with an architectural reinterpretation owing to the completion of Renzo Piano’s project, which helps lend continuity to the success of the public and exhibitors of 2022. On the other hand, boating is the epitome of our national production because design marries technology, materials with innovation, trends with sustainability,” declared Antonino Laspina, Director of the ICE Agency in New York, coordinator of the USA network.
This is our third event in a year, and after New York and Fort Lauderdale we had to land at Newport, the most important American city for world sailing. The stop in the Ocean Race (which ends in Genoa this year) just ended, we just registered the new sales record in the U.S. (575M + 30% over the previous record year of 2021) truly a great presentation of the 63rd Genoa Boat Show in 2023, declared Carlo Angelo Bocchi, Director of the ICE Office in Miami.

“Over the years, Made in Italy values have demonstrated their distinctive position in the United States market, and this is well represented by the boating projects which we have discussed today, commented Paolo Trevisan, VP Design of Pininfarina of America. “As Pininfarina, we are proud to represent Italian Design in this important market, where we are also learning and developing our abilities.”
