ITALY ON MADISON RETURNS ITALIAN EXCELLENCE TAKES CENTER STAGE IN MANHATTAN

From May 22 to 28, Madison Avenue celebrates Italy

New York, May 2023 – The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is pleased to announce the second edition of Italy on Madison. From May 22 to 28, a series of special events and cultural events will highlight the best brands and the great Italian restaurant scene, offering New Yorkers an elegant start to their Memorial Day Weekend.

Major Italian fashion and design brands and Made in Italy haute cuisine will display all their excellence on one of the worlds’ most iconic streets, Madison Avenue in New York City.

It all begins on May 22 with the opening ceremony of the second edition of Italy on Madison, which according to tradition will take place at the Italian Trade Agency office at 33 East 67th Street. The event starts 11 AM, kicking off a very intense program of initiatives: seminars, fashion shows, cocktail parties, meeting with the media and with the great New York community.

The United States remains Italy’s third partner country, the sector trend of US imports from Italy during the January/February 2023 period, almost the entirety of Made in Italy sectors have recorded increases: Mechanical +20.5%, Fashion and Accessories +0.1%, Chemical and Pharmaceutical +13%, a large increase in the Agrofood and Beverage sector +63.6%, Semi-finished products and Components +25.5%.

The US Italy trade trend continues to reinforce the strong increase already observed in 2022.

+16.2 %. The Italy US exchange has recorded an increase of +37.5%.

The first half of 2023 has been characterized by additional growth of Made in Italy in USA in its multiple and varied products.

The “Italy on Madison 2023” event intends to offer further support in promotional and communication activities to Italian companies operating in the most “Italian” shopping district outside Italy.

This is an opportunity to further transform the great market potential into business for Made in Italy companies – stated Antonino Laspina, Director of the ICE Agency in New York, coordinator of the US network.
