IN SAN FRANCISCO THE WINTER FANCY FOOD SPEAKS ITALIAN

The Italian Pavilion is, again, the big star at the California event.

65 companies and 10,000 square feet of floor space: these are the dimensions of the Italian Pavilion at the Winter Fancy Food 2017, in full swing at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

From January 22 to 24, the world of quality food distribution is present at its annual meeting with the industry on the West Coast of the United States.

Under the banner “The Extraordinary Italian Taste” food companies from almost all the regions of Italy showcase the best of pasta, cheese, olive oil, cured meats and much more to the big names in the retail trade and food service sector with the ultimate objective to delight the American consumers with the authenticity of typical Italian products.

The Winter Fancy Food Show is the largest trade event dedicated to the food specialties on the West Coast.

Great satisfaction from exhibitors, taken literally by storm by buyers and food experts.

Great success for the Italian Lounge, with its cooking show sessions.

“We are pleased to have Italy as our main partner for the Winter Fancy Food Show,” says Phil Kafarakis, President of the Specialty Food Association, owner and producer of the show.

“American consumers today are looking for authentic food with taste and exceptional quality, quality, always highlighted by Italian companies that are presenting exceptional products from all their regions”

“This edition of the Winter Fancy Food we have, among other things, invited 10 major buyers from across the United States”, said Maurizio Forte, the Director of the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) in New York and Coordinator of the ICE USA network.

“A very clear choice aimed at improving the connection between the Italian companies present at the fair and a few energetic US buyers interested in new products and new partnerships.

The trade data in October 2016 shows an increase of 2.4% of our export sector”, continues Maurizio Forte, “which confirms the substantial consolidation after two years of growth in 2014 and 2015 which had been about 10%.

In terms of 2016 overall exports, Italy, along with India, were the only countries among the top 10 suppliers to the US to register growth (+ 1.8%).

“Today, the United States represents indeed the ideal place to make the most of our Italian companies and of our ‘Made in Italy’, an integral part of the culture of beauty sought out by the Americans”, said Donato Cinelli, President of Universal Marketing, the exclusive Italian agent of the Specialty Food Association, “and for us, the many years of helping the best of Italy land into the US bring us enormous joy.

This year the Winter Fancy Food confirms Italy as the ever increasing presence”, continues Cinelli, “and, to our great satisfaction, we were able to secure the presence of great players of the Italian food as exhibitors at the show.

The United States will find at the Winter Fancy Food in San Francisco the hospitality and service quality that, for over thirty years, has set us apart in North America and worldwide”.
