New York – Just of a few days ago is the news of the inclusion by the New York Times of Calabria among the 52 places in the world to visit in 2017, the only region in Italy, chosen for the interest generated by the culinary art of some young chefs of the highest level.
Calabria is the heart of the Mediterranean. It is the land of the Bronze Statues and has won the front pages of newspapers around the world for the most exciting marine archaeological find of 19th century, is consistently ranked among the most interesting and unspoiled regions of the Italian scenery from a landscape point of view. Dotted with beaches, covered by clear coasts and dramatic cliffs on which stand castles and ancient watch towers, in its innermost places it hides rugged mountains covered by thick forests inhabited by unique species of flora and aromatic plants in the world.
After gaining the flattering position in the ranking compiled by Danielle Pergament for the New York Times which sees Calabria in the 37th position, now Region Calabria with the Department of Tourism is pleased to present the New York Times Travel Show “Red Calabria” the brand that represents the food and wine, tourism and culture offer of Calabria. The important New York event will be attended by two famous chefs: Antonio Abruzzino and Caterina Ceraudo who at the New York Times Travel Show in New York will speak about their creative philosophy, aimed at capitalizing on the immense wealth of tastes, a unique raw material, made of variety of vegetables and vines preserved over centuries in the most mysterious and hidden areas of this fascinating region of Southern Italy.
